Mickey Mouse-lookalike on Hamas T-V is killed by Israeli character

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) It's not exactly the Mickey Mouse Club.

A children's T-V show in the Gaza Strip, affiliated with Hamas, has ended with a Mickey Mouse look-alike character being beaten to death.

The mouse preached Islamic domination. But in the end, he was killed by an actor playing an Israeli official who was trying to buy the mouse character's land.

At one point, the mouse called the Israeli a "terrorist." A teenage girl who was featured on the program told viewers that the mouse, named Farfour, "was martyred while defending his land." She said he was killed "by the killers of children." The weekly show featuring the giant black-and-white rodent with a high-pitched voice had attracted world-wide attention as the character called on Palestinian children to fight Israel.

Israeli officials have denounced the program as incendiary and outrageous.
