Terror warning to cleric...New al-Qaida video...Lucky number seven?

LONDON (AP) A British cleric says a message he received from an alleged al-Qaida leader more than two months ago may have been a warning about last week's failed bombings in Britain and the attack at the airport in Glasgow, Scotland. The message: "Those who cure you are going to kill you." All eight suspects who have been arrested have been identified as medical workers or students.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) A new video tape is calling on Muslims to unite in jihad, or holy war, and support the Islamist movement in Iraq. A U-S-based intelligence monitoring group says al-Qaida's number two man Ayman al-Zawahri (AY'-muhn ahl-ZWAH'-ree) discusses many topics, including Iraq.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Police in Bridgeport, Connecticut, have been questioning the driver of a van that rolled into a pond today, killing an adult and two children. Authorities say the driver apparently stopped the van and got out to ask for directions. It then rolled into the pond. One child is in critical condition.

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (AP) It has been a day for appearances by presidential hopefuls in Iowa. Democratic candidate Hillary CLinton and G-O-P hopeful Mitt Romney each marched in the Independence Day parade in Clear Lake. And Democratic Senator Barack Obama has also been in Iowa campaigning.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) Is the number seven lucky for you? Many Americans are testing their luck Saturday, which is July 7, 2007, or 7-7-07. People are booking gambling junkets and about three times the normal number of people are getting married that day.
