Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) The Dow opens the week at 13-thousand-611 after gaining 46 points on Friday and 203 for the week. The Nasdaq gained 63 points last week and starts the day at the 26-hundred-66 level. Washington (AP) It's a fairly slow week ahead in terms of economic reports. The main items are retail sales figures for June and the May trade balance. Later today, the Federal Reserve reports on consumer debt for May. NEW YORK (AP) The second-quarter earnings season gets underway with Alcoa scheduled to report its results after today's closing bell. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect the aluminum maker, which has made a 27 and a-half (b) billion dollar hostile takeover bid for rival Alcan, to show a profit of 83 cents a share seven cents less than a year ago. TOKYO (AP) Japan's benchmark stock index had its highest close in more than seven years today. The Nikkei rose 121-point-oh-four points to close at 18-thousand-261-point-98. UNDATED (AP) Sony is revising its PlayStation 3 console, giving it a bigger hard drive for storing video games and hi-def movies. A machine with 80 gigabytes of storage will retail for 599 dollars.
