O.J out out jail...Rather sues CBS over firing...Private security probe in Iraq

LAS VEGAS (AP) O.J. Simpson is expected to return home to Florida soon. He was released from jail in Las Vegas today, after posting bail. And, in another twist in the case, one of the sports memorabilia collectors who accused Simpson of barging into a hotel room has now been arrested himself on a parole violation.

NEW YORK (AP) Former TV news anchorman Dan Rather is suing CBS for 70 million dollars. He filed a lawsuit today alleging the network made him a "scapegoat" for a discredited story about President Bush's National Guard service. Rather accused the network of intentionally mishandling the aftermath of the story. A CBS spokeswoman says his complaints are "old news."


BAGHDAD (AP) Iraq's prime minister wants Blackwater USA's security activities in Iraq suspended, as he and U.S. officials investigate a deadly weekend shooting. Nouri al-Maliki says this is the seventh such incident involving the company. Witnesses have come forward saying they saw Blackwater security guards shooting at people in western Baghdad Sunday. Blackwater says its contractors were responding to insurgents' gunfire.

NEW YORK (AP) Despite another rise in energy prices, investors were able to look past inflationary fears and are betting the Fed's interest rate reduction will boost the overall economy. Stocks ended higher today, with the Dow Jones industrials gaining 76 points, to close at 13,815.

Washington (AP) The owners of a Washington dry cleaning business who were sued for $54 million over a missing pair of pants may have won the case, but they've lost their shop. Their lawyer says a drop in revenue and the emotional strain were too much. But, the South Korean immigrants have another dry-cleaning business and will focus their energies on that one.
