Meth Project draws about $1.2 million in donationsOct 27 2007 10:44AM
Associated Press HELENA, Mont. (AP) A yearlong campaign to raise money for the Montana Meth Project has drawn about $1.2 million. The Meth Project fights methamphetamine use and is best known for gritty advertisements about the perils of meth. Billionaire and part-time Montana resident Tom Siebel established the Meth Project in 2005, and funded it. The Siebel Foundation now promises a dollar-for-dollar match of donations from private and corporate sources. The fundraising coordinators are pushing to gather an additional $500,000 by November 15th. The Meth Project say its advertisements reach 70 percent to 90 percent of Montana teenagers at least three times a week. The messages are in newspaper, broadcast and billboard advertising.
