FEMAle American soldiers killed by IED south of Baghdad

BAGHDAD (AP) The U.S. military reports the death of another American soldier in Iraq, a woman killed Thursday when her patrol was hit by a roadside bomb south of Baghdad.

Her death brings to at least 90 the number of U.S. military women who have died in Iraq since March 2003 invasion.

An unofficial count by The Associated Press shows that at least 3,849 American troops have died in the war.

The military has not released the soldier's name or rank, saying only that she was assigned to the Multi-National Division-Center.
