Associated Press Japan's Nikkei (nee-kay) index fell 2.5 percent. Hong Kong's benchmark index fell almost 4 percent. European markets are mixed in early trading. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Federal authorities are questioning the crew of a cargo ship that struck San Francisco's Bay Bridge Wednesday, causing the worst oil spill in the area in almost 20 years. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard is defending its response to the spill against complaints it was too slow. ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia (AP) Russian searchers have recovered the bodies of three sailors from one of as many as 10 ships that sank in a fierce storm near the Black Sea. An oil tanker broke in half in the storm, causing a massive spill. Officials are assessing the damage from the spill. BAGHDAD (AP) The U.S. military says rocket and mortar attacks in Iraq have declined to the lowest levels since February of last year. Officials say there were 369 "indirect fire" attacks last month, half of the number of attacks in the same month a year ago. LOS ANGELES (AP) Laraine Day has died. The actress appeared in nearly 50 Films, including the Alfred Hitchcock thriller "Foreign Correspondent." Her publicist says she died of natural causes at her daughter's home in Utah. She was 87.
