Senate committee to discuss ND fuel shortageNov 18 2007 10:37AM
Associated Press Senator Dorgan is the chairman of the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee. He will chair the committee hearing Tuesday. Dorgan says he's asked officials from the refineries that provide gasoline and diesel fuel to North Dakota to testify. Dorgan says he also invited a U.S. Department of Energy official to explain what caused the regional shortages. Dorgan says North Dakotans paid the second highest price for gasoline in the nation this summer. And he says gasoline and the diesel fuel supplies were not always available when needed. Thats an easy one to figure out. The Tesoro Refinery got these big contracts to send the fuel down the pipeline. They had trouble keeping up with those contracts thus the people of North Dakota got the short end of the stick, again!! I have spent more nites in a day cab truck over this situation than i care to think about. All there concerned is their pocketbook. The heck with the local people and farmers of ND. The is now reasonable explaintion that they will give other than excuses and more excuses. Now They are FINALLY releasing #1 fuel, but is on restrictions of 2,500 gal per acct. Thats like taking a 5 gal pail of water out a large swiming pool. It doesnt do a thing other than cause problems for everyone. Tehy should have been making this fuel quite a while ago to have product available and have on hand is instead of causing headaches for everyone!!
