Associated Press PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) The Oglala Sioux Tribal Council has decided not to impeach tribal President John Yellow Bird Steele and his dismissed all allegations against him. A Black Hills treaty council had accused Yellow Bird Steele of meeting with an energy company to explore uranium mining on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Both the treaty and tribal councils have declared the reservation a nuclear-free zone. A tribal official says a meeting was set up to discuss a water study on the reservation, and that's when the uranium rumors started.
