CLinton victory...Petraeus nominated to new job...High court on arrests

Washington (AP) Hillary Rodham Clinton is touting her electability after her 10-point win in the Pennsylvania primary.

She told C-N-N today she hopes to do well in the next nine contests, including Indiana and North Carolina on May 6th. Rival Barack Obama, in a speech in Indiana last night, said the "bickering" of the campaign has distracted voters from key issues, including the Iraq war and the economy.

WASHINGTON (AP) Defense Secretary Robert Gates says President Bush will nominate the Iraq war commander, General David Petraeus, as the new commander of U.S. Central Command. If confirmed by the Senate, Petraeus would replace Navy Admiral William Fallon, who abruptly stepped down in March. Gates adds that Bush will also nominate Army Lieutenant General Ray Odierno to replace Petraeus in Baghdad.

Supreme Court (AP) The Supreme Court has ruled that police have the right to search a suspect after an arrest, even when the arrest might be against a state law. All nine justices agreed that police in Virginia had the right to search a man who had been stopped for driving on a suspended license. The man was convicted on a crack cocaine possession charge.

KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) An American mountain climber with a "Free Tibet" banner has been forced off Mount Everest. Nepalese officials say the banner was found in the man's bags at an Everest base camp. Chinese climbers plan to carry the Olympic torch to the mountain's summit next month.

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) Searchers off Brazil's southern coast have found a cluster of party balloons but no sign of the Catholic priest who had been using them in a try to set a flight record. One fire official says there is a chance that the priest is still alive.
