Langdon Wind Energy Center dedicated in Cavalier County

(Todd McDonald, Prairie Public) UNDATED (AP) A dedication ceremony was held today for the Langdon Wind Energy Center.

The center in southeast Cavalier County is the largest in eastern North Dakota.

Joanne Field is an Otter Tail Power Company spokeswoman who was at the site.

Field says the wind farm will be an important source for renewable electricity. She says it's also helped reinvigorate the region's economy.

Otter Tail Power owns and operates 27 of the turbines on the wind farm, and buys power from 13 other turbines.
