Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Participants are being sought for the Miss Indian Nations pageant. The 16th annual pageant is set for September third through the sixth in Bismarck, during the United Tribes International Powwow. The Miss Indian Nations pageant is a scholarship program for single, non-parent American Indian women between age 17 and 25 who can demonstrate their command of tribal values, customs and teachings. The current Miss Indian Nations is Shere Lynn Wright, a member of South Dakota's Rosebud tribe. Applications for the pageant are available through United Tribes Technical College.
