Associated Press Washington (AP) A human rights group says it examined 11 former inmates of Guantanamo Bay and Iraq's Abu Ghraib (grayb) prison and found evidence of torture and other abuse. Physicians for Human Rights says some of the men are still "severely scarred" psychologically. WASHINGTON (AP) Senate investigators say despite warnings from military lawyers, the Pentagon went ahead with abusive interrogation techniques for detainees. The investigators say some of the techniques were once used on American POWs by North Korea and North Vietnam. HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) A convicted murderer slated for execution in Texas has gotten a rare reprieve. Prison officials held off because they weren't sure they could administer the lethal drugs by the midnight deadline because of lengthy appeals. GULFPORT, Ill. (AP) The tiny town of Gulfport, Illinois, is not just flooded but inundated after a levee gave way along the Mississippi. Water in the town is about 10 feet deep. Sandbagging elsewhere continues. BOSTON (AP) They didn't even make the playoffs last year, and now the Boston Celtics are world champs.
