Attendant in plane fire held in halfway houseJul 16 2008 5:37PM
Associated Press Fargo, N.D. (AP) A flight attendant who has pleaded not guilty to setting a bathroom fire aboard a Compass Airlines jet is in a Fargo halfway house while he awaits trial, after allegedly violating terms of his release. Nineteen-year-old Eder Rojas (ROE'-hoss) of Woodbury, Minnesota, was previously released to the custody of his father in Illinois. Federal prosecutors say Rojas contacted a former co-worker via e-mail, something he was ordered not to do. Rojas was to stand trial in Fargo next week, but it's been delayed until September to give his attorney more time to prepare. The May 7 flight from Minneapolis to Regina, Saskatchewan, made an emergency landing in Fargo. The federal complaint against Rojas says he was upset with the airline for making him work the route.
