Associated Press KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) Barack Obama is in Afghanistan, having arrived there this morning after discretely leaving the U.S. Thursday. It's the first time he's visited the country. He intends to meet with Afghan president Hamid Karzai while he's there. GENEVA (AP) An Iranian official says his country will not freeze its uranium enrichment program, even if he's promised no new U.N. Security Council sanctions will be imposed. Those comments came shortly after the start of international talks on Iran today. Washington (AP) President Bush is using his weekend radio chat today to again talk up the economy. Bush will reinforce comments he made at a news conference this week, noting that the economy has been slowly growing. He's also urging Congress to act quickly on plans to shore up the mortgage industry. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Firefighters in California are down to the last few dozen wildfires a month after lightning sparked more than 2,000 of them. State officials say the fires burned through enough land to encompass the state of Rhode Island. SOUTHPORT, England (AP) K.J. Choi is atop the leaderboard at the British Open, with third round play under way this morning. He's one-under, just a stroke ahead of 53-year-old Greg Norman. Those two tee off later.
