RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) The soon-to-be Republican Party nominee for president, John McCain, is scheduled to appear at the Buffalo Chip Campground during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Campground owner Rod Woodruff says McCain is scheduled to appear on stage early Monday evening and will receive a flag for his service in the Navy.

Woodruff says the Arizona senator's staff indicated McCain might meet with the public after the ceremony, part of the Buffalo Chip's annual tribute to U.S. veterans.

Woodruff says it's a "tremendous honor" to have McCain take part in the ceremony.
