Fargo construction worker dies after fall down elevator shaft

FARGO, N.D. (AP) A man has fallen three stories to his death down an elevator shaft at a south Fargo construction site.

It happened around seven this morning.

Police Sergeant Jeff Skuza says it appears there were safety measures in place on the roof. He says the victim, 37-year old Timothy Solberg of Fargo, may have moved some things around and then stepped or fell into the elevator shaft.

Solberg worked for the M.J. Dalsin roofing company of Fargo. He was the only one on the roof at the time.

Work at the site has been suspended for the day. OSHA is investigating.
