It's raining gators and snakes in FloridaAug 21 2008 4:56PM
Associated Press Alligators, snakes and other critters have been swept from their swampy lairs into flooded streets, backyards and doorsteps. The storm has dumped more than two feet of rain along parts of Florida's low-lying central Atlantic coast this week. And flooding is also possible in Georgia, where the southern half of the state's Atlantic coastline is under a tropical storm warning. Some parts of Georgia could get up to six inches of rain. At 5 p.m. Eastern time, the storm was located just west of Flagler Beach, and was moving west at about five miles per hour. It still had maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour, but is forecast to gradually weaken. % |
