Associated Press DENVER (AP) Barack Obama is now in Denver, where the Democratic National Convention tonights formally nominates him for president. Obama's plane landed at Denver International Airport under clear skies, bringing him to Colorado after a series of campaign stops along the way. (Stations: Watch for dating) DENVER (AP) They're calling the roll in Denver as Democratic delegates choose to make Barack Obama their party's nominee. Onetime rival Hillary CLinton has released her remaining convention delegates, leaving them free to vote for Obama. Both Obama and Clinton's names have been placed in nomination. PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) Officials along the U.S. Gulf Coast have begun preparing for a possible visit from Tropical Storm Gustav, which is expected to turn back into a hurricane. Gustav is being blamed for at least 22 deaths in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. BOISE, Idaho (AP) A federal judge in Boise has sentenced Joseph Edward Duncan to death for the 2005 kidnapping, torture and murder of a northern Idaho boy, Dylan Groene (GROH'-nee). The judge issued the sentence on the recommendation of a federal jury which had deliberated for just three hours. PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (AP) It's an offering they can't refuse. A pastor in Port Jefferson, New York, says one of his congregants has donated a winning lottery ticket worth 3 million dollars to his church.
