Casino near Sioux Falls draws opponentsSep 1 2008 8:31AM
Associated Press The Lyon County Citizens for Casino Truth hopes to get the project voted down September 23rd. Local voters must approve of the casino complex near Larchwood before developers can apply for a state license. Opponents say the casino will result in reduced sales tax revenues and increased unemployment. Kehl Management, which has a similar casino south of Iowa City, would build the gambling complex. The casino would have 400 employees, 800 slot machines and 24 card tables. It would accompanied by a 100-room hotel, buffet, restaurant, lounge, indoor pool, and an event center.
