But an economic meltdown being felt around the world could slow that down, or even put it on hold. Some Republicans on Capitol Hill are suggesting that's what should happen. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) NATO airstrikes have helped deliver a pounding to Taliban militants planning an attack outside the capital of Afghanistan's Helmand province. The coalition says some 60 militants were killed. UNDATED (AP) For the first time ever, two generations of Americans have flown into space. Video game mogul Richard Garriott reportedly paid $30 million to fly on board a Russian Soyuz that's currently headed for the international space station.
