Tsunami warning is lifted...Backfires are set...Good money after bad?

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) There are no reports of damage or injuries from a powerful quake that has struck waters off eastern Indonesia and a tsunami warning has now been lifted. U.S.

It's something they weren't able to do until today, because the Santa Ana winds were too strong. Thousands of residents have been forced from their homes and many are still awaiting word on whether theirs were among the hundreds of homes destroyed.

Washington (AP) A couple of Republican senators think there's no point in propping up the auto industry since, as they see it, it's doomed. Richard Shelby of Alabama and Jon Kyl of Arizona tell the Sunday interview programs that they'll be opposing a Democratic plan to use $25 billion from the financial industry bailout to help the automakers.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) A group allied with Hamas says it's pulling out of the truce between Israel and the militant Hamas rulers of the Gaza Strip. This, after four members of the group were killed today in an Israeli airstrike as they fired mortars at Israel. It happened just hours after another group of militants struck Israel in a separate rocket attack. It's the latest threat to the 5-month-old truce.

HOUSTON (AP) So far, NASA hasn't seen anything in the pictures or video from Friday night's launch of the shuttle Endeavour to indicate that the shuttle suffered any damage from debris. The shuttle is headed toward a docking this afternoon with the international space station. It's delivering new equipment that will make the space station a home-away-from-home for a bigger crew.
