Associated Press BREA, Calif. (AP) The mayor of Los Angeles says it's devastation like he's never seen before. Fires have now burned more than 34 square miles in parts of Los Angeles County and areas to the east and northwest. Flames are now threatening multimillion-dollar homes in Diamond Bar in Los Angeles County. JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) A warning of a tsunami is enough to send people fleeing in panic in Indonesia but today's warning proved to be unnecessary. A powerful quake struck waters off eastern Indonesia, but the tsunami alert was soon lifted. There are no reports of serious damage or injuries. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) It looks like Pakistan may be expanding its fight against militants in a northwestern tribal region. Pakistani helicopter gunships today struck targets in a neighboring area. Meanwhile, officials confirm that they're temporarily keeping oil tankers and some other supply trucks off a highway that's a major supply route to U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. They want to reassess security. PHILADELPHIA (AP) No nose gear? No problem, for a US Airways Express flight that landed this morning in Philadelphia. The 38 people on board are all fine. A flyover had confirmed that the nose landing gear didn't deploy after the flight from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Fire crews spread foam on the runway, but there was no smoke or fire when the plane landed. Incoming flights have been delayed because of the disruption. LOS ANGELES (AP) He wanted revenge but James Bond got a lot more than that. The new Bond Film, "Quantum of Solace" in which the spy hero seeks revenge for the death of his lover in the previous film has raked in more than $70 million on its opening weekend. It's a record opening for a Bond flick. In second place was the animated "Madagascar" film that debuted as No. 1 last weekend. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
