CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) Spacewalking astronauts have completed almost all of the greasy repairs on a gummed-up joint at the international space station. The astronauts went back inside after a seven-hour spacewalk Saturday, leaving just a few chores behind for Monday.

Washington (AP) President-elect Barack Obama is promoting an economic plan he says will create or save 2.5 million jobs in the next two years. It would involve spending billions to rebuild roads and bridges and modernize schools, while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars.

LIMA, Peru (AP) Leaders from the U.S. and 20 other nations meeting in Peru have agreed to resist domestic pressures to protect industries. They also pledge to reach agreement next month on the outlines of a World Trade Organization pact that collapsed in July.

MIAMI (AP) The father of a Florida college student who killed himself during a webcam broadcast is calling for tougher regulation of Internet sites. Abraham Biggs Sr. says those who watched as well as the Web site operators share some of the blame in his 19-year-old son's death.

DENVER (AP) A daredevil plans to use a hydrogen-peroxide powered jet pack to travel 1,500 feet across the Royal Gorge in southern Colorado Monday. The Royal Gorge is more than 1,100 feet deep. Eric Scott works for the company that developed the jet pack.
