KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) Afghan police say a suicide car bomb has exploded outside the U.S. Embassy gate in Kabul. A police official says one person was killed and six wounded. The embassy was hosting a Thanksgiving Day footrace, and Americans and other Westerners were entering the embassy compound at the time of the explosion.

MUMBAI, India (AP) A senior Indian official says at least 101 people have been killed in terror attacks that have rocked Mumbai.

Teams of gunmen targeted hospitals, a restaurant, hotels and a train station. There are also media reports of gunfire being heard from the headquarters of a Jewish outreach group.

BEIJING (AP) China says French President Nicolas Sarkozy's planned meeting with the Dalai Lama leaves it no option but to pull out of an upcoming China-European Union summit. Tibet's exiled Buddhist leader is Beijing's hated foe.

CHICAGO (AP) President-elect Barack Obama says for American's worried about the economy, "Help is on the way." In his third news conference in as many days he said his administration intends to get the economy "back on track" and will have a plan ready to put into action on day one.

NEW YORK (AP) About 3.5 million people are expected to line up in New York for Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. There will be performances by Miley Cyrus, Trace Adkins, James Taylor and the Radio City Rockettes.
