EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) After spending two seasons on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, receiver Martin Nance is making a strong push for a spot on the active roster.

Nance leads the Vikings in receiving through two preseason games with four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. He had three catches for 74 yards and a score against Baltimore last weekend.

If coach Brad Childress decides to keep six receivers on the active roster, Nance is likely competing with rookies Darius Reynaud (ray-nawd) and Jaymar Johnson for the final spot.

He says he feels much more comfortable in the offense in his third season in Minnesota and that has helped him perform better on the field.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell says Nance is showing up in practice and in games and is making the decision a tough one for the coaches.
