MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Kevin Garnett made a triumphant return to Target Center where the ex-Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star led the Boston Celtics to an easy 95-78 win over the T-Wolves last night.

Garnett scored 17 points in his first game back in Minnesota since being traded to the Celtics last year.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Vincent Lecavalier (leh-KAV'-ihl-yay) had two goals to help Tampa Bay interim coach Rick Tocchet (TOHK'-iht) earn his first NHL victory in the Lightning's 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators last night to end a five-game losing streak. Tocchet replaced the fired Barry Melrose a week ago and lost his first two games as Tampa Bay's coach in shootouts.

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Stephen (STEH'-fihn) Curry turned in another dazzling performance with 30 points and a career-high 13 assists in leading No. 20 Davidson past Winthrop 97-70 last night.
