Thanks all the people out there who want a lower quality of life that goes with low taxes. You have fun with your McMansions and SUVs that you got with your rich person tax breaks and corporate welfare.
If the President hadn't drastically cut funding to America to fund his oil war in Iraq we woudlnt' be in this situation.
I drive on that road EVERY DAY. I am outraged at the idiot in chief and his whole disgusting and corrupt administration. This is a tragedy. Our country is falling apart.
And don't tell me the war was necessary, I'm not interested in your lies. Every 9/11 terrorist was from Saudi Arabia and the idiot in chief is giving them weapons now to kill Americans.
And our federal government has no funds, remember? It is trillions in debt to the war.
Entitled to drive on safe bridges, entitled to healthcare and life even if you are poor? Please, tell me what entitlement program is. Minnesota is a great state. When they give property tax returns and relief, they give it to renters! The people whose rent is paying the tax! They don't give it to the owner, who is just collecting the rent! Minnesota is a wonderful state! They are usually "for the people" on their legislations. I am sure they are not perfect over there, I am impressed sometimes.
How about spending road money on maintenance and upkeep and building more roads?
First, Bush is head (or other end) of the Republican Congress, who have rubber-stamped his nearly every move. They have consistently cut spending for our nation's infrastructure, and our society in general, to balance grotesque expenditures to "privatized", i.e. "Corporatized" government interests, and foreign investme...er I mean, invasion. (Don't think of it as $10 BILLION a month being spent. Think of it as $10 BILLION a month EARNED! :-D )
Furthermore, you need to study American history in greater detail before you bandy about terms like "Federalist Roots". Especially as you then contradict yourself in the next sentence by accusing local officials, who are indeed as culpable and will be called to account, and probably resign as well. (The Republican Governor, pledging not to raise taxes, vetoed the state bill that would have funded repairs) I'll remind/teach you that in a true "Federalist Society", such repairs would have been the responsibility of the Federal Government, Republican controlled until only this year. And the Fed Gov is supposed to pay a large share for such hi-way upkeep as it's part of the National Interstate Transit System, established for moving troops around the country for national defense. (Also for Ike's Secretary of Transpo, former head of General Motors, to increase the market for automobiles and trucking;-)
As for Ed Schultz, he used to be a Republican till he "saw the light". And he's paid ALOT less than Lush Limbaugh or O'Really? or any other neo-con-artist/propagandist. And how typical of you to decry "taxes" while Bush has driven us deeper into debt than ALL the former presidents combined!! $9 TRILLION, with a T, mostly to CHINA. Is that patriotic enough for you?
Why do Republicans insist on doing everything on the CHEAP!? You cannot be the Greatest Nation in the World, while trimming your country to the bone! Unless it's to consistently bribe the gullible with promises of TAX CUTS!! A bone thrown to working and middle class dogs while their Corporate masters get the STEAK CUTS!
Finally, to cap off your inconsistent, but consistently imbecilic, argument, you cite the "million dollar bus stop, and the "bridge to nowhere"! Two pork-barrel projects "earmarked" by none other than Sen. Ted Stevens, a REPUBLICAN, now being investigated for corruption. (or is that a redundancy?)
So to recap, you don't know U.S. political history, political science, political machinations or political propaganda. You are talking out your Elephantine Republican posterior while your sheepish brain tries to defend itself against the onslaught of reason and reality that's now catching up with your neo-nazi-con fantasy world.

Meanwhile, the Bush-led Republican Congress, and conservative corporate greed ARE TO BLAME for degrading the US infrastructure, slashing public works projects, diverting $ to private contractors who care only about their profits - not public welfare, and sinking all Clinton-Democrat surpluses on the Iraq holocaust...
Bush isn't a true Republican ... anyone still supporting him is stubborn, blind or idiotic.
If we are all responsible, (so much for republican accountability!-) then let's all bite the bullet and TITHE TO OUR NATION as you do to your church, (you do don't you? it's "under God" isn't it?-) and pay off this NINE TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT!!! (note: unless you make over $500,000 @year, your taxes will not be raised by Dems, regardless what your masters tell you.)
But seriously folks, when the people of this country went to vote they expected the chance to vote fairly, and their votes to be counted properly. Now we know that wasn't the case in Florida and Ohio, states with GOP (Guardians of Plutocracy) administrations officiating elections. Do more than watch FAUX NEWS, for chrissake! OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOUR MIND WILL FOLLOW! (maybe) And just who do you mean by the "right person"? Would this person have a W prominent in their name, hmmm? Gosh, if we all voted for him (like any good dictator/decider expects his followers to do) then we'd never argue about what our "wise and glorious leader" was doing. (and anyone who did would "disappear", as they should, for being a "bad American") Much like they never argue about Li'l Kim in North Korea.

First, yes the President is the r-e-p-r-e-s-e-n-t-a-t-i-v-e of the American people, but he's chosen by the "electoral college", a body whose workings are probably too complicated for me to explain in this small space to your satisfaction. Even so, he's not chosen by "the people", but only the slimmest of majorities of the people. (W lost the pop vote in 2000 and was essentially "appointed" by the conservative Supreme Court. Scalia and Thomas should have recused themselves as they both had sons either working for Bush's campaign or already selected to work in his administration upon his victory.)
But your biggest ERROR in critical reasoning lies here: "This means that calling President Bush an idiot is same as saying America is stupid. Sad but true."
WOW! (you really believe that don't you?) The way you torture logic would make DICK! Cheney proud. Worse than waterboarding. You see, Checkster, "America" is a "nation" comprised of millions of individuals (some smarter than others), and not a sentient being itself, and therefore can't be considered "smart" or "stupid", except in the most juvenile schoolyard way of thinking. Oh, wait, that's what you meant isn't it?
Okay, I'll try again. You're statement, while indeed sad, is NOT TRUE. A does NOT prove B. Calling Bush an idiot does NOT mean America is stupid. If we had ALL voted for him, then yes, it would mean that. If we had ALL voted for him TWICE, then that would make us all MORONS WHO DESERVE WHATEVER TRAGEDY BEFALLS US. But since more and more people are calling Bush an idiot, that means "America" is actually getting SMARTER AND SMARTER"! (proportionately speaking)

If you were smarter, you would understand: A; he, and they, are ignorant, arrogant and corrupt, and B; to say so, and demand their departure, is the height of American Patriotism. On the matter of Bush's responsibility, he is being held "accountable" (remember that word, you conservatives? you certainly used it enough in your days of ignominy) because Bush demanded that a BILLION DOLLARS be cut from a highway funding bill for bridge reconstruction in 2005. It was cut from $3 bil. to $2 bil. by his republican lackeys who controlled congress, on his insistence, to show how fiscally prudent he is. (Gotta pay for that 10 billion @month war somehow!-)
An extra billion spread around means the bridge could have gotten REPAIRED, instead of just INSPECTED once a year rather than once every two years. It's called "TOMBSTONE ECONOMICS", people!!! Haven't you heard of that before?!! It's where nothing get's spent, fixed or improved until people DIE!!!

As for bush, he deserves every bit of criticism he gets, both valid and otherwise. He and the GOP are getting away with murder [literally!] and much more, and no one seems to care enough to do anything about it. Hey people, did you realize that bush somehow managed to wrangle enough democratic votes in congress to pass legislation that allows the government to spy on phone calls and email coming into the US from abroad? Without warrants, without cause, without anything more than a simple decision to do so. I have friends and family abroad, and evidently, it's legal to eavesdrop on my communications now.
Yes, very much off topic. But to blame bush, and to bring up all sorts of seemingly unrelated info is to reveal the current state of this country's confidence in its leader. Unwarranted in this particular case...maybe. But look at the bigger picture and it becomes obvious why so many people are starting to point their fingers at him.
