KXMBTV Bismarck The Cross Training Christian Camp is underway for athletes in grades fourth through 12th. Their first camp was back in 1994, and in recent years, its become a tradition at Mary. "(Bob Upgren:) We have been doing the University of Mary for the last seven or eight years. As our camp progressively has grown, we have needed this facility, it is a great facility to house the kids and feed the kids and really do the stuff that we do on the court and the ministry we do off the court. " This year, Meadowlark Lemon is participating. He spent 25 years with the Harlem Globetrotters and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003. At 75 years of age, he's lived an interesting life. He's an ordained minister, has two television shows and was animated in 'Scooby Doo' cartoons. " (Meadowlark Lemon:) Growing up, I never thought that I'd be where I am now. The Hall of Fame and all that, I didn't know anything about the Hall of Fame. These are things that are extra, that comes with - I want to call it - excellence in what you are doing. I'd like for these kids to see that also here because one day, they'll be wearing our shoes and they'll have to remember that it started here." Lemon remains involved with the Globetrotters. Meanwhile, The Cross Training camp continues through this week.
