Suicide is a self-made decision. In the original post an assumption is made this person was under the influence of drugs. From the video/article I did not hear he was under the influence. Is there other information to suppott this? Do we know this for a fact? How can responsibility for this death be laid on the feet of others when we do not know all the facts of whether an incorrect decision to place him on suicide watch was made? Even in the most controlled enviroments or circumstances a person who choses to commit suicide will attempt it.
Abortion - the choice made to terminate the embryo or fetus.
What makes abortion different from murder? Depends on the belief of when life begins - conception to birth.
Death Penalty - the choice to terminate a life due to a conviction of guilt under the law.
Murder - the choice to terminate a life unlawfully
Suicide - the choice to take one's own life voluntarily

I have ONE account, and this is it. I'm not the person you responded to earlier in the thread. You went too far with that comment about killing infants, you know it, and now you're trying to rationalize it. It is slander because it is defamatory and false. It's not the first time you've said things about people here which were defamatory and false. It's not even the tenth time. Your crass comments about a suicide only show you for the heartless baggage you are. Reply...
It is not slander, it is fact... you are Pro-choice are you not? have you not stated that? Then my response was correct.... Pro-life means all life, every single one...... You should absolutley be the last person crying foul, are you kidding me. My big problem with Pro-life is the fact that you cannot both want to save all babies but then be pro death penalty. You cannot have it both ways. This subject however was your outrage about a man who killed himself and now nefariously noted that it could not be possible for him to do this in a jail cell with cameras. I did some fact checking and about 49 people out of 100,000 commit suicide in jail every year. The most violent offenders commit suicide most frequently. Reply...
I would kill an infant? How DARE you? Eric, could you please give "Fair&Balanced" a quick rundown on the rules of the forum? Especially the ones about slander. Reply...
Fair, I can't believe I'm gonna say this... but I agree totally with your posts. Suicide single handedly lies with the person who does it, no one else. Reply...
He chose to kill himself. Himself, himself, he was killing himself with drugs, killing himself with drugs. KILLING HIMSELF....... HIS parents knew he was KILLING himself... I am sure that they have bailed him out numerous times in their lives.... He made a choice.... You have some sort of sick thought process. You would kill an infant but somehow you are indignant when a convicted mutliple time felon decides to check out. HE WAS NOT KILLED!!!! he KILLED HIMSELF!!!!! I have my own opinion of what his parents must be thinking. I said I feel sorry for any wives, parents, children, brothers and sisters. Reply...
If the jail knew he was a suicide alert, he should have been placed in the medical bay. Not sure how the facilities are here, but at the jail that I did work at, they had constant watch. The inmates were each placed in a room with a bed and were watched through a huge window and were checked on every 5 minutes. As for the cells, they did not have a camera in each one. Reply...
He had a mother and a father. Let's hope they don't read your words, F&B. You should be ashamed of yourself. Reply...
No doubt it is sad that this person that took his life and that his family will be in sorrow over their loss. But what about our finest young men and women that lose their lives fighting for our country? Where are the tears for these people that sleep every night on dirt not protected by concrete walls and no hot meals or hot showers that never know when they are going to be blown to nothing? Too bad it wasn't Moe Gibbs that was swinging in that cell after killing that young girl. We have our finest young men and women fighting in Iraq so this SOB can use our money for another appeal so he can have life a little easier. So some one hung himself in a cell, very unfortunate. 50 years old!! A druggie for sure.He made his bed! Reply...
Uffidah, are you really Ex-Man? Reply...
What no one feeling bad for this guy? Reply...
The thing I don't know is why they have bunk beds in jail, or beds mounted on the wall. Cass county has concrete slabs with mattress's just like the drunk tanks in Burleigh County Detention Center. No way to hang your self in there. Reply...
Sheila he just saved the country about $40,000 per year. There is now one less criminal on the streets and one less person who "still doesn't get it" at 50 years old on the streets to kill, harm, infect, burglarize or just plain corrupt any other citizens. He had his rights, he was protected under the constitution and with those rights he made his own choice, why can't you accept that. He was a fifty year old man, he had an extensive record, he made a choice, that he will not have to live with. The only sad part, that he did not heed the many warnings that he had received in life. Oh well, we can not save them all. He made a choice. I do not like suicide, I believe every life is valuable, I would not harm a fly, but people are entitled to make choices and as sad as they are sometimes, there is notnalways anything we can do to prevent them. One of the first people I met when I moved to the miwdest was a gay man whom I adored. The sad fact is is that he was gay when it was not openly okay to "be that way". The sad fact is he had commmittd no crime, he had harmed no person, he simply was gay , and it was not okay to be gay, so he ended his own life. His parents, to this day, still claim that he died from some sort of flu complications. He made a choice. I didn't like, it but I accept it, and I hope he is at peace. The ones I do feel sorry for are those whom are left, the jailer who found him, his kids, if he had any, his parents and siblings. He is gone but they will suffer. Reply...
does it matter if i have first hand knowledge of this would that change the fact that this man was taken into custody after being arrested for ingesting a controlled substance. the other man was taken to a local hospital and he was put in jail. dont you wonder why i do. i believe he should of been watched over more carfully. if a man can commit suicide and be dead in his jail cell for a half an hour or more without anyone knowing what else is going on in our jails. Reply...
Did you say you know from first-hand knowledge that there is a camera in every cell? Reply...
The cowards at the Fargo Forum have endorsed Pomeroy. Not surprising, but another example of a little group of people who ignore the gross violations of his position that Earl Pomeroy has committed over the years.
How can an honest newspaper ignore the fact that Pomeroy was the inurance commish of this state and now he receives hundreds of thousands of dollars from out of state insurance companies?
How can an honest paper ignore the fact that Pomeroy takes money from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and AIG, invests in AIG, and then bails it out?
How about Pomeroy calling good men like Ed Schafer and the constituents of his own state names because they want lower taxes?
Earl Pomeroy is one of the most crooked, double talking politicians this state has ever seen. I beg people regardless of party affiliation to do the right thing and vote this guy right out of office. Let's do what the cowards at the Fargo Forum will not do and let's execute justice. Earl Pomeroy, you took advantage of your position. You need to go.
Washington needs Duane Sand now more than ever. Reply...
Earl Pomeroy has overstayed his welcome. He is part of the problem in Washington and we need to quit sending him there. It is in the city of Fargo where Duane Sand needs the most help. If you live in Cass County, get some Duane Sand campaign signs and place them wherever you can. Talk to people. It's time for Earl to go. Reply...
