As of this point in time, there are 2 people here who remember where they were 41 years ago. Me, I was 6 yrs. old. I was probably working on my fort out in the pasture. My dog wasn't born yet (he was three years in the future). When he died, I built him a tomb out of stones and timber, on top of a hill overlooking the Missouri River valley. Since then, many other dogs have joined him up there, and now we call it "Dog Hill". No cats allowed. (Sorry, Sneakycat) Reply...
I was waiting to be born two weeks later. Reply...
Theresa, I completely understand what you are going through with your dog. You have my sympathy. They do become one of the family. I have had dogs all my life. Can't live without them, that's for sure. They each have their own separate little special personality, just like people do.
Last year we lost two dogs. First, my 14 yr. old English Setter, then our 19 yr. old Siberian Husky. My setter died in her sleep, and the Husky we had put to sleep. We were so lucky to have had a vet who came out to our house to do it. He even said a prayer for our dog before he gave him the injection. How can you thank a vet so much for that? What a guy.
We have a beautiful cemetery for our pets. It's in a huge garden next to our house where they are buried. I take care of it just like it was a human cemetary. Animals give us so much. They deserve the best. Reply...
Thanks Brats. I am having such a hard time losing my dog. He has been with me for fourteen years. I had three dogs, now I have two. I just cut a pork chop into 15 pieces (3 equal parts), now I am crying again. I just am trying to get my mind off it. I have mourned for him. Now I need to get on with life. I know some of you don’t understand that, but some of you do. Maybe we should start a forum, I love my dog! Reply...
Theresa, sorry to hear about your dog, that is a very hard think to do. I could never do it always someone else to take them in. I would always have to turn around and come back with dog intoe. As for 41 years ago I was 6, so really don't remember. Reply...
Hi Pets good to see ya. I remember where I was on September 11th also. It is a painful remembrance. Being from New York I had some close ties with some people that died. I don’t want to talk about it right now. I am very upset today; I had to have a Chihuahua put to sleep Tuesday. Still not doing well with that, I don’t want to cry anymore.
Tomorrow is D Day.

It was a sad day for us also. I remember my mother crying. All the Catholic churches in Brooklyn had a special mass that evening, and everyone was crying. There was no school for a few days. I remember watching it on TV as it happened; it was like watching a bad movie. Everyone was out in the street in my neighborhood crying into each other’s arms. I was in a very Irish Catholic neighborhood. It was on the news this morning; it brought back all the emotions. Reply...
For some reason, I can't remember what I was doing on the day Robert Kennedy was assassinated, but I do remember what I was doing when Jack was. I was in my first year out of high school, and at work at my first real job; proof reading at West Publishing in St. Paul. My supervisor went around telling everyone what had just happened, and everyone started crying. I remember feeling like it was the end of the world coming.
Can you remember what you were doing on 9/11, when you heard about the planes hitting the towers? I was outside planting some pine trees, and my husbands daughter called and told us. Again, I was afraid it was the beginning of the end. Maybe it was Reply...
I just cut and paste. I can't change it. Reply...
